The demographic crisis poses an important threat to Italy’s future and, in order to be properly tackled, requires the adoption of various measures. The oocyte cryopreservation – egg freezing – has some challenges but, in this complex scenario, it should be part of a mix of policies designed by lawmakers with the aim of relaunching the fertility rate. Some entities, such as the Puglia Region, have already acted in this direction; however, without the involvement of the central State, it is difficult to experience a significant increase in the adoption of this medical method.
