Digiti. Rivista manoscritta (e-ISSN 3035-2843) is a half-yearly manuscript journal, realized by undergraduates, graduates, PhD students and teachers of the Department of Humanities of the University of Trento, that is the offspring of a teaching project devoted to enhance the potential of communication via hand-writing. The journal’s contents are mostly in Italian.
The call for papers is now open for the seventh issue of DiGiTi. Rivista Manoscritta of the Department of Humanities at the University of Trento, which will focus on the theme: ‘Epigraphs and graffiti’. The deadline for submissions is 10 August 2026.

This issue of Digiti is dedicated to “Exceptions.” A handwritten magazine—perhaps itself an exception—in a world that is entirely, or almost entirely, digital. To attempt to understand the concept of exception, one must start with a rule, a “normality,” a “general” principle, disrupted by an anomaly, a deviation, a peculiarity. One might ask who or what decides what the rule is and what constitutes normality.
