Practice Research consists of an approach that involves conducting research in collaboration with the different stakeholders in social work: the practitioners, the people users, the researchers, and the policy makers in order to transform findings into new and exciting ways of doing social work, but also to have a critical analysis of social work practice, theories, and methods. This paper will present the acts of the seminars and conference given by two of the major international experts in the field, Lars Uggerhøj from the University of Aalborg in Denmark and Ilse Julkunen from the University of Helsinki. Both visiting professors in our Department offer us the occasion to open up a space for reflection on the topic of research in and on the practices of Social Work.
