The present contribution provides a chronological overview of the main topics of the interest shown by Pope Paul VI in Rosmini during his entire life. This interest was directed on the one hand to the philosophical thought of Rosmini, seen in the context of the Italian Renaissance, and on the other hand (especially in Paul VI’s mature years) to the charitable activity of the Rosminian Fathers. As far as this second issue is concerned, Paul VI’s attention toward Rosmini is focused on the ideal of the universal charity and on the ways in which this ideal has been fulfilled by the Rosminian order.
