The essay aims to present the philosophical work of Lodovico Antonio Muratori within the European context of the 18th century, highlighting the important role which he played, in Italy and abroad, with his works, expressing the intention to actively participate, with his theoretical reflections and practical proposals, to the process of change and innovation that involved the whole century and determined the historiographical definition of the Age of the Enlightenment.
