Abstract

The use of the term ‘cosmology’ in connection with Giordano Bruno’s thinking does not actually have to be justified, unless, from a subsequent perspective, you lose sight of the fundamental difference between cosmology and astronomy: cosmology, as the more complex term, also includes what astronomy (as a quadrivial sub-discipline of the artes liberales) discusses, but not vice versa.
