A theorist of abstract art in Italy between 1920-1930, Carlo Belli takes as reference the early century avant-garde and the intellectual training grounds of the new ideas represented by the unique Italian “Riviste” phenomenon. This essay explores Belli’s unexpected combination between Bergson’s Antipositivism and Rosmini’s Platonic thought in his research for Abstract Art and Rational Architecture.
