Abstract

Antonio Rosmini graduated in Padua with a thesis on theology and canonic law. The exam included a dissertation on the prophetic sources of the classical culture that had fortold the birth of Christ and had been used by the Fathers of the Church against the pagan idolatry between the first and the fourth centuries A.D.The problem, submitted to Rosmini, was about the existence of the Sibyls, and the authenticity of Oracles, if  they could be held inspired by the Sibyls themselves or they dated back to a Judaic-Christian source. After the introduction, this article includes the critical edition of Rosmini's manuscript compared with following transcriptions and the translation from Latin into Italian
