The present contribution is the republishing of an article by Giovanni Moretto that appeared on the journal «Jesus» in May 1995. According to a remark of Giuseppe Capograssi, what Moretto pointed to was a real “Rosmini case”: the case of a thinker who seems to have found more favour with the literates (Manzoni, Tommaseo, Fogazzaro, Rebora) than with the philosophers. And the reason is that, for Rosmini, the only way to enter into truth is through charity, but (according to an affirmation of Moretto’s master, Alberto Caracciolo) it is in the poetical domain truth finds its greatest expression.
