This article considers, through a systematic sorting of literary journals published from 1944 to 1946, the Italian reception of French poetry about Resistance and civil commitment. This research raises some essential issues for the history of the late twentieth century Italian literature, such as the relationship between poetry and historical events of the mid-century or the role of the French example in the transformation process of poetry in Italy. As a goad that tries to hit a nerve, French Resistance poetry is a topic that forces an acknowledgment, a key issue to debate immediately.
