Abstract

Fulvio De Giorgi is an expert on Rosmini’s life and spirituality. His contribution identifies the sources and authors that allowed Rosmini to become deeply knowledgeable about Islam and its history during his studies at the University of Padua (1816-1819). Simone Assemani, who was Professor of Holy Scripture and Oriental Studies at Padua and published many works on Arabic culture, is shown to have had a particularly important influence.
