XY 18 - Call for Papers

2026-06-10

With this issue, the journal announces the Non-Aligned Points competition for the Roberto de Rubertis Award granted to one of the essays submitted for the second-semester issue (July–December), in accordance with the editorial policies of “XY”: each contribution undergoes double-blind peer review and, if it passes scientific evaluation, is not only published but also submitted to a Selection Committee, whose judgment is based on the scientific quality and originality of both the text and the images.

The prize for the most outstanding essay consists of a monetary award of €1,500, granted by the Fondazione Roberto de Rubertis TSO; a special mention of €500 may be awarded to the essay distinguished by the high quality of its iconographic apparatus.

The international competition, open without age restrictions to professors, researchers, and scholars, focuses on fields of thought structured and reciprocally interconnected through an infinite multiplicity of directions, relating these fields to the four words that define the intellectual legacy of the architect, scholar, and teacher: drawing, design, survey, and evolution.

The essay must be written in two languages: in addition to English, Italian, German, French, and Spanish are accepted. Starting with XY 18, the issues associated with the call for papers present a specific feature: the possibility of being ‘enhanced’ with multimedia contents accessible through the interactive PDF.
