Abstract

This is an introduction to the monographic section Cesare Pavese Between Rational and Irrational. After presenting the articles, the editors reflect upon the role of the conflict between these two elements which is not resolved in some kind of dialectical synthesis, thus producing ambiguous textual images, which often are expressed through Pavese’s use of myth.
