In this paper the development of artificial intelligence (AI) is debated, highlighting the opportunity to avoid misleading narratives and excessive AI anthropomorphization. Therefore, the benefits and potential risks related to AI are analysed, having special consideration for new phenomena of algorithmic discrimination.
