Abstract

The analysis of a parliamentary inquiry’s report allows examining the critical steps of “Stamina case”, i.e. an unconventional therapy based on use of mesenchymal stem cells. The failure of “extraordinary” experimentation (ex d.l. 24/2013) and the results of penal inquiries have obliged Italian Parliament to ask itself about reasons of illusory success of “Stamina method”. The examined report offers many arguments to avoid a new “Stamina case”, above all, legislative modifications and use of Daubert standard to value scientific proof.
